When you think about all the numbers that matter in your life, you may want an easy way to keep track of them. You may care about the temperature outside, stock prices, mortgage rates, calories burned, etc. Staying on top of these numbers may seem like a challenge until you discover Numerous.
Numerous is a free app for iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch and Android devices that lets you keep track of your most important numbers in one place. You can customize Numerous to show you important numbers as well as fun ones. Because, hey, numbers don’t always have to be serious.
Using the Numerous App
After you download the Numerous app, choose which numbers you want to keep track of by tapping on them. You’ll see some suggestions on the home screen or you can search for ones using keywords.
Numerous also has categories of numbers for you such as:
- Business
- Lifestyle
- Fitness
- Social
- Connections
The numbers you choose appear in squares on the home screen of the app so you can see them all in one place.
You can connect your accounts with Numerous to add number squares for social media, days until calendar events, and smart home information.
Examples of Useful Numerous Numbers
Fill your app with number squares such as:
Fitness — Connect Apple Health, Fitbit, Misfit and/or Strava to get your fitness stats
Mortgage Rates –Track current mortgage rates
Stock Prices — Enter a ticker symbol to view the current stock price
Exchange Rates — See the current exchange rate of currencies such as the US dollar, euro, British pound, etc.
Twitter — Number of tweets, appearance on public lists, time since last tweet, followers for your Twitter account
Google Calendar — Countdown to your calendar events
Temperature of any city
Distance – Track your distance to any point in the world
[tip] After you open a number square in the app, turn your phone 90° to see a graph for the number over time. [/tip]
Examples of Fun (and Maybe Useful) Numerous Numbers
Elevation — Turn your phone into an altimeter by adding elevation to Numerous.
Tesla — View the Battery Level, Estimated Range, Time to Full Charge and more
Nest — See the temperature of your home with the Nest thermostat number.
How Many Days Until — Count down to important events such as your birthday, your vacation, the Martian movie
Celestial Events — Add number squares for Phases of the Moon, SpaceX Rocket Launcher, Eclipses, Supermoon, Habitable planets, etc.
Disney — Taking a trip to Disney World? Make the most of your trip by using Numerous to see current wait times for each ride.
IFTTT
The Numerous Channel on IFTTT was added recently and can serve as both “this” and “that”, with recipes feeding numbers to your Numerous squares. You can use IFTTT Numerous recipes such as:
- Reset a number to zero at midnight
- Number of days you’ve visited the gym
- Current UV Index
- Track total steps from Fitbit using Numerous
- Keep track of how many Instagram photos I’ve taken
- Track the surf height at your favorite beach
As of this writing, 200 Numerous IFTTT recipes have been posted so you can have fun finding ones that work best for you. Feel free to create recipes with your important numbers!

You can access IFTTT Numerous recipes or create your own on the IFTTT website or from within the Numerous app. Be sure to check out the IFTTT website to get inspiration and prompts for your Numerous recipes.
History
At times you may want to compare the current number to numbers from the past, perhaps with stock prices, exchange rates, elevation and the temperature of your house. Tap on a number square to see past history of numbers and turn the screen 90° to see the history in a graph.
Note that this feature isn’t available for every number but may prove useful for squares that do provide history.
Social Media
Some number squares allow for Likes and Comments, adding a social media feature to the app. You can enable or disable these features for each square.
Tip: As the comments, Likes and history are together in one timeline, you may want to disable the social media feature if history of the numbers is important to you.
Bloggers
Bloggers may enjoy the instant access to numbers with Numerous. Use the app to keep track of:
Google Analytics — Pageviews, Sessions, New Visitors, Total Visitors
Facebook Page Likes
Twitter Followers
Availability
Numerous is available as a free app:
Apple Watch App
Numerous is also available as an Apple Watch app, displaying your number squares on your Watch screen.
The iPhone app gives you control over which numbers appear on your Watch screen. Tap the three stacked lines in the upper right corner on the square on your phone. Toggle on or off “Show on Apple Watch.”
Numerous is available in Glances on your Apple Watch. You can set which number appears in Glances, either from the three stacked lines menu or in Settings on the iPhone app.

You can use Numerous to see your health data from your Apple Watch. Add the Heart Rate square to your Numerous app and see a graph of your heart rate over time as measured by your Apple Watch.
Today Screen
Numerous is also available on your Today screen for your iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch. Add it as a widget, then control which numbers appear on your Today screen from the Numerous app in Settings.
