Thank you, dear readers, for helping The Wonder of Tech continue to grow over eight years. Yesterday marked the eighth anniversary of this website and it’s because of the support of you wonderful readers that The Wonder of Tech continues to prosper.
Every year on our blogiversary I like to give you a peek behind the curtain to reveal some of the statistics of this site. I find stats fascinating and I hope you do too.
Most Popular Articles at The Wonder of Tech
Readers’ questions are an important source for article topics. Out of the top 10 articles last year, six were based on questions from readers. So thank you for the brilliant questions and keep those questions coming!
Two of the top ten articles last year were about how to organize your Pinterest boards. During the year Pinterest released an update to make organizing your boards easier. So perhaps this article will be one of the top ten this coming year: Pinterest Introduces New Tools to Organize Your Boards and Pins.
How to Turn Your Echo Show or Spot Into a Digital Photo Frame is an up and coming article. This article has been ranking number one for the past few months and continues to gain in popularity.
I continue to be confounded by the most popular article at The Wonder of Tech last year: Bitstrips — Create Your Own Comics Starring You! is about tech that no longer exists, Bitstrips. I updated the article to tell readers that Bitstrips isn’t available any more, referring people to the article about Bitmojis: Bitmojis — Emojis Starring You! The Bitmojis article only ranks at the 23rd most popular article for the year, in spite of the fact that Bitmojis actually exist, while Bitstrips does not.
Here are the most popular articles at The Wonder of Tech for the past year, in order:
- Bitstrips — Create Your Own Comics Starring You!

Referral Sources
Google once again led the list of referrers sending readers to The Wonder of Tech. Google sent eight times as much traffic here as the second largest source of traffic, Pinterest.
June 2018 saw the closure of StumbleUpon, the eighth ranked source of traffic last year. So StumbleUpon reached number 8 even thought it was operational for only half the year. For the entire time The Wonder of Tech has been running, StumbleUpon was the third biggest source of traffic. I truly miss StumbleUpon!

I honestly hadn’t heard of Ecosia until I started looking at my stats for this article. The number 10 source of traffic to The Wonder of Tech is a search engine based in Berlin, Germany that uses a portion of its profits to plant trees.
How cool is that? Perhaps enough readers came to The Wonder of Tech through Ecosia last year to plant a tree.
