When you have fun photos that remind you of joyous times, you may want a creative way to save them and share them with friends. Google Photos’ new Collage Creator is a fun, easy, and free way to make and share festive collages with others.
About Google Photos Collage Creator
Google Photos Collage Creator is easy to use and takes only a few taps to create a fun and festive collage. Google Photos first started rolling out Collage Creator in September and is adding new Styles for Christmas, the New Year, and the Lunar New Year.
You can create collages on Google Photos using the Android and iOS (iPhone/iPad) apps as well as on the desktop version of Google Photos. But only the Google Photos apps give you the option of using Styles to make your photos more festive.
Collage Styles are much more than photos arranged on a grid. Google Photos hired artists to design creative collage Styles. Holiday collage Styles were created by Australian husband-and-wife visual duo DABSMYLA and watercolor artist Yao Cheng Design. Other collage Styles include designs from artists Lisa Congdon and Shantell Martin.

How to Create a Google Photos Collage
Ready to create a Google Photos collage? Let’s get started!
Open the Google Photos app. In the Photos section, choose a date for photos you want in your collage. Tap the checkmark next to the date.
Tap the photos you want to be included in your collage. The number of selected photos appears in the upper left corner of the screen. You can add two to six photos to your collage.
Tap the + Add to button below the photos. Choose Collage in the Create section of the menu.
Your photos will be arranged in a plain collage. At the bottom of the screen, you’ll see the choices for collage Styles.
Tap one to see how your photos look with that Style. Because the shapes of the frames in collage Styles are different, some Styles will work better than others for your selected photos.
If you choose an artistic Style, the name of the artist will briefly appear at the bottom.
Members of Google One (Google’s paid storage plan) can choose from all of the Styles. If you’re not a member of Google One, you won’t be able to select the Styles with a colorful 1 in a circle in the upper left corner.
Editing Your Google Photos Collage
After you’ve chosen your Google Photos collage Style, you can edit your photos within the collage. Tap a photo to edit it. The rest of the photos will be darkened.
Tap Edit below the collage. Then edit the photo and tap Done. You can edit any, all, or none of the photos in the collage. Tap Save when you’re finished editing your collage photos.
You can also replace the photos in your collage. Tap a photo in the collage, then tap Replace at the bottom. Choose a different photo from your Google Photos Library to include in your collage.
Saving and Sharing Your Collage
When you’re pleased with your collage creation, tap Save. Your collage will be added to your Google Photos Library.
Tap the arrow sharing icon to send your new collage to friends and family and/or share it on social media.
You can also order prints and photo gifts of your collage from Google Photos. Tap the shopping bag icon to visit the Google Photos Print Store.
