One of the major benefits of tech is the ability to keep track of our health. By using apps and wearables we can keep track of our fitness, nutrition, sleep and well-being. But the more tech we use the more challenging it can be to keep track of the data we’re collecting on ourselves.
Addapp can help you keep track of and understand your fitness data from a wide variety of sources. Connect your apps to Addapp to see your progress, get motivation and gain insights into how well you’re doing and how you can improve.
Because, hey, we can always improve, right?
Addapp gathers your data from connected apps and provides you with daily insights into your lifestyle. Depending on the apps you use, you can get insights into your:
- exercise
- heart rate
- activity
- nutrition
- sleep patterns
Addapp connects your data to let you know how your activities affect each other. For example, do you sleep better on nights after you’ve worked out hard during the day? How is your heart rate affected by your level of activity? The more apps you use to track your health, the more data Addapp can analyze to provide you with helpful insights.
Addapp Apps
Addapp connects directly with many apps and indirectly with even more apps through Apple Health. If you’re using Apple Health and have connected apps through Apple Health, then you can get insights from Addapp based on the data from those apps as well.
As of this writing, you can connect the following apps to Addapp:
Apple Health, Argus, Bodymedia, Endomondo, Fatsecret, Fitbit, Fitbit, Foodzy, Garmin Connect Mobile, Get Moving, Hot5 Fitness, Human, iHealth, Instant Heart Rate, Jawbone, Jawbone, Magellan GPS, Mapmyrun, Misfit, Moodpanda,MotionX 24.7, Moves, MyFitnessPal, Nike+ Running, Nutrino, Runkeeper, Runkeeper, Runmeter, Runtastic, Sleep Cycle Heart Rate, Strava,Swarm by Foursquare, Trails, Uber, Under Armour, Wahoo Fitness, Withings and Zova.
Insights
The more apps you connect to Addapp the more valuable your insights will be. Insights can be very motivational, highlighting your successes and providing suggestions for improvement.
Addapp takes a while to input your data from connected apps. Please be patient and wait for your first personalized insight. While you’re waiting, Addapp will give you generalized motivation updates. When you receive your first personalized insight you’ll know Addapp is working its magic.
Each insight offers action plans for you to improve your fitness. You can ignore these suggestions or use them to get inspiration about how you can take your workouts to a higher level!
You also get inspiring messages such as:
“The AHA (American Heart Association) notes that each hour of active time could add approximately two hours of life expectancy.”
Getting Started with Addapp
Download Addapp from the iTunes App Store, free for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. (An Android version is in the works.)
Open the app and sign up for an account or connect your Facebook account.
Choose which apps you want to connect with Addapp.
Read general insights while you wait for Addapp to analyze your data. Addapp took about two weeks to generate specific insights based on my fitness data. The wait was worth it.
Apple Watch
Addapp now has an Apple Watch app so you can get notified of your insights and view them on your Apple Watch. The app was updated last week so you can see the beautiful insight pictures on your watch along with the messages.
Need motivation to get off the couch? Open up the app on your Watch and read your latest insights. You go!
My Experience Using AddApp
Addapp has been an interesting motivational tool for me to monitor my fitness. Getting insights has been a combination of encouragement and information.
The app takes my fitness and compares it to how many flights of stairs I would’ve climbed each day, if I had been climbing stairs instead of doing other exercises, and to my activity on other days.
Addapp also tracks my progress and expects improvement. Push myself to the limit? Yea! Addapp wants me to do better next week. Um, okay…
No Sliding, Please
The news isn’t always good. If you let your fitness slide a bit, don’t think Addapp won’t notice. After expressing concern about your health, the app will give you a gentle nudge to get out there.
Maybe you were feeling ill, were traveling, didn’t have time to exercise, injured yourself or simply wanted to take it easy on yourself for a bit.
Too bad. Addapp doesn’t want to hear your excuses.
Next week will be better. Right?
Bonus
One of the more impressive aspects of Addapp is the promise that the CEO, Kouris Kalligas, will personally reach out to you when you sign up for the app. Kalligas also responds personally to emails. Go ahead, try it out. I did and sure enough, he responded right away.
Just don’t keep him so busy that he doesn’t have time to make Addapp even more awesome!
Privacy

Hi Carolyn,
Interesting indeed 🙂
I’ve read a lot about apps that show you the details about your health, the calories and other things, as we have a few local ones here too. And I remember an earlier post here about the watch (forget the name!) that shows you all such details too, and even the wrist band, but they were different. Didn’t know about Addapp, which gathers the data from all other apps to give you all the details- something new and nice!
My goodness! You climb an average of 5 floors a day…that is wonderful, and keeps you fit! Overall, I think it’s great to have an app to connect your apps to one and see your progress, and I loved reading the insights about how you’re doing and how you can get better.
Many congratulations on making it to the list of best tech blogs – no one could be better. Left you a small comment there, though it’s in moderation presently.
Thanks for sharing it with us. Have a nice weekend 🙂
