If you’ve been reading The Wonder of Tech for a while, you probably know that you can use your Echo Show as a digital photo frame. No need to buy a separate digital photo frame when you have an Echo Show, your Echo Show can display your favorite photos on its screen.
The article about how to use your Echo Show as a digital photo frame is one of the most popular articles at The Wonder of Tech.
Find out how to set up your Echo Show as a digital photo frame at => How to Turn Your Echo Show Into a Digital Photo Frame
Now, Amazon has made using your Echo Show as a digital photo frame even easier. So if you’re a fan of your photos and have an Echo Show, read on to find out how easy it is to see your favorite photos on a screen.
The New, Easy Way to Use Your Echo Show as a Digital Photo Frame
If you’ve already set up your Echo Show as a digital photo frame, an update from Amazon means that you can easily change the display on the screen to show your favorite photos exclusively for the next three hours. No more interruptions for news updates, weather reports, recipe ideas, sports scores, or other tidbits. For three hours you can see your photos on your Echo Show without interruption.
All you have to do is say: “Alexa, start Photo Frame.” That’s it.
So easy!
Of course, if you use a different wake word for your Echo show, use that one instead of “Alexa”. You could even try Amazon’s new wake word, “Ziggy” in honor of David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust. See, CNet, Alexa, meet Ziggy
After you say, “Alexa, start Photo Frame,” your Echo Show display will show your digital photos exclusively for three hours. During that time, your photos won’t be interrupted by other items such as calendar reminders or weather updates.
The photos show text in the corner with the date they were taken and the album where they appear. You can say, “Alexa, tell me about this photo” to learn where and when the photo was taken.
This new Photo Frame feature would be fun at a party to display your favorite photos. Or you can set the Echo Show to display family photos at a holiday meal. Or choose photos of you and your loved one for a romantic evening.
Choosing Which Photos Are Displayed in Your Digital Photo Frame
You can choose which photos appear in your Echo digital photo frame. The Echo Show can display photos from your Amazon Photos account (with free, unlimited photo storage for Prime members). Or, your Echo Show can display photos from your Facebook account or your phone/tablet.
You can choose to display Collections, Favorites, Recents, Daily Memories, This Day, (photos taken on this day in past years), or photos with a theme (such as sunset, beach, etc.). Or you can choose which individual photos to display.
To choose which photos are displayed in Photo Frame, open the Alexa app on your phone, tap the three stacked lines in the bottom menu bar, then tap Settings => Device Settings. Choose the Echo device you’d like to use as a digital photo frame. Tap Photo Display => See all options.
From there, you can choose which photos you would like to display. You can also link your Facebook account, if you’d like Photo Frame to show photos from Facebook.
Availability
Amazon launched Photo Frame for all Echo Show devices earlier this month. Previously, this feature was only available on the Echo Show 15. Now, you can use this feature on any Echo Show.
Photo Frame is available on Amazon’s Echo smart display devices in the US, the UK, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and Australia.
