If you’re part of the growing number of people who enjoy audiobooks, or you want to give audiobooks a try, you’ll want to check out Chirp. This new place to get audiobooks was launched in May this year by the owners of BookBub, the service that shows you deals on ebooks.
The popularity of audiobooks continues to grow at an impressive pace. According to Forbes, sales of audiobooks increased by more than 24% in 2018 over the previous year. Chirp has no subscription fees or membership fees. If you see a book you want to get, you can buy it to add it to your Chirp Library. After a book is added to your Library, you can listen to it at any time, the audiobook doesn’t expire even when the book is no longer offered for sale at Chirp.
You can sign up to join Chirp’s email list and get daily or weekly notices about new audiobook deals offered by Chirp. You can get notices of all new audiobooks on sale at Chirp or you can set your genre preferences to get customized email notices of new audiobooks at Chirp.
Genres that are available at Chirp include mysteries and thrillers, romance, science fiction and fantasy, classics, general fiction, nonfiction, kids and young adult, Christian fiction and non-fiction, and editors’ picks.

On a single day, Chirp doesn’t have thousands of audiobooks or even hundreds. Think dozens. But you should be able to find some enjoyable listens across a variety of genres.
Over time you can add Chirp audiobooks to your Library and save a lot of money over paying full price. As you add to your collection, your Library will grow so you can become immersed in books while you do your daily commute, walk the dog, do the dishes, fold laundry, and/or go on a road trip with friends and family.
