Are you excited to head to the mall? Or do you tremble in fear at the thought of shopping? Either way, you will be excited to learn about FastMall, a fun, free and functional app that works on both Android and iPhone to make your trips to the mall a breeze.
FastMall gives you loads of information about malls across the US and in 31 countries around the world. You can search for malls by location or by name. Once you have found a mall you want to visit, you can download a map of the mall that will stay on your phone, whether you have Internet service or not. The app also provides mall hours, addresses, directions and other useful information.
If you’re not sure which stores are in a mall, or want to find certain types of stores, the app has fantastic search functions. You can search by store name or category (such as cards and gifts, electronics, teen clothing, shoes, etc.), or look at the mall map to see where you are and which stores are close to you.
Awesome Navigation
FastMall makes navigating within the mall a dream. Once you select a mall, FastMall downloads a map of the mall to your phone. This feature is really handy because you can download the map over Wi-Fi when you’re home. You don’t need to use data in the mall so if you can’t get reception, have a limited data plan or are using an iPod Touch, no problem.
The app gives you many ways to find your way around the mall. If you’re connected to the Internet, the app will find you and direct you. Or if you can’t or don’t want to use the Internet, just enter the name of the closest store and where you want to go. Either way the app will show you how to get to your destination on the map.
After you locate any store or restaurant in the mall, a red Take Me There button appears. After all, what good is it to know what stores are in the mall if you don’t know how to get there?
Need to go to between floors but have a stroller or a wheelchair? No problem, you can direct the app to use only elevators when directing you to stores on different floors.
Best Feature
My favorite feature of this app is the ability to locate the closest restroom. If you have little ones who need such information in a hurry, this app will soon be a favorite of yours. ย Shake your phone. That’s right, shake it. Suddenly the locations of the restrooms appear on the mall map. But not only does the app tell you where the closest bathrooms are, it will even direct you how to get there. Select a restroom and press the Take Me There button. Very cool.
One Stop Shopping
I live near many malls, including King of Prussia Mall, one of the largest malls in the world. I have been going there since I was a kid, I even worked there as a teenager as a sales clerk in a department store. But the mall is so huge that it’s difficult to navigate and FastMall is fantastic for helping me to plan my trip and shop efficiently when I get there. I know King of Prussia Mall has its own app, but I don’t want to load my phone with apps for all of the shopping malls in the area. FastMall has them all!
But wait, there’s more!
FastMall can also tell you about deals going on in the mall. Instead of searching for deals with individual store apps, you can use the app to see which stores in the mall are offering great deals and head to them.
If you get hungry when you shop, FastMall can help you out with finding places to eat as well. Clicking on Food gives you the choices of Fast Food, Restaurants, Specialty Foods and Coffee Shops.
And if you get so tired shopping that you can’t remember where you parked your car, FastMall can help you with that too.
So, how much would you pay for an app with all these great features?
$14.95? $9.95? $4.95? If you did, you would be getting a great deal. But you don’t have to pay a dime, euro, pence or anything. This app is free! That’s right, free! And not for a limited time only, this app has always been free. No shipping and handling charges either!
“So how do I get this great free app?” you ask.

This app sounds great! But as I head out this week to do my son’s back-to-school shopping, I’ve decided that product quality has to be a priority. Last year, I bought all his school supplies, including binders, notebooks, folders, etc. in August. By Thanksgiving, they had all turned to rags, held together with massive amounts of heavy duty tape. I don’t remember this happening when I shopped for school supplies for his older brother years ago, and if anything, my younger son is more careful with his stuff. This leads me to the conclusion that the quality of products is really declining. So my question, is there an app that rates the quality of the products we need to buy for our kids? That would be worth it’s weight in gold!
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Kathy, I feel your pain. It’s very frustrating to load up on school supplies that don’t last until November. FastMall does offer a review feature, but I think you’re looking for reviews of products more than stores.
My suggestion for you is to read reviews online at sites such as Amazon. You don’t have to order your school supplies from them, you can just find out which brands have the best quality and then shop locally if you’d like. Here is a link to Amazon’s listing of notebooks in Office and School Supplies: Amazon Notebooks.
I hope this helps! ๐

I don’t know if it is part of the “FastMall” family, but I have the King of Prussia Mall app and love it! I don’t like mall shopping but there are times that I must, and this app helped me cut down the aimless wanderings trying to find the few stores I want to visit. Any app that can shortcut my time in a mall is a big winner for me, and to have the added bonus of a features showing where the deals are, even better!
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Carol, The King of Prussia Mall app is a separate app from FastMall. I prefer FastMall because of all the features and it means I only need to keep one mall app on my phone. You should give FastMall a try to see if you like it. The app is free, so why not give it a go?
Thanks so much, Carol, for your visit and wonderful comment!

Hey, when’s school starting? It’s like only yesterday the kids went on vacation.
These kind of apps never cease to amaze me, we’ll soon end up buying everything from our PC.
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Lynn, I have to agree, the summer is almost over and it’s hard to believe the kids will soon be back in school. I kind of miss the Staples ad about this being the “Most Wonderful Time of the Year!”
True, if you buy everything online, you wouldn’t need FastMall, but I think most people head out to the stores this time of year, at least for some items. My kids love to pick out their own school supplies and outfits at the mall, I don’t think they would settle for online shopping for their back to school accessories.
Thanks so much, Lynn, for your visit and great comment!

What in the heck with they come up with next Carolyn? Seriously?
I was shaking my head at this one. Go to the maps in the mall if you get lost. People are so spoiled now with all this technology. We are making everything so easy for people. But then again, if someone can come up with it, they’ll create it. People love convenience.
Interesting for sure. Still shaking my head though! You sure are on top of things.

Adrienne, you made me laugh with your comment. Did you read the part in the post that you shake the phone to show the restrooms in the mall? I was picturing you shaking your head instead of the phone to bring up the restrooms on the app. ๐
I think this app is especially helpful for those who are trying to navigate the mall with a stroller or a wheelchair, or with toddlers who don’t give you much warning before they need to use the facilities. (I’ve had all of these situations at malls.) In these cases, just hunting down a mall map can be a difficult chore, much less trying to get to a store. Anything that makes the trip easier is better in my mind.
What will they come up with next? I can’t wait to find out! ๐
Thanks so much, Adrienne, for your visit, brilliant comment and helpful tweet!
Adrienne says
Oh yeah girl, that’s why I was laughing so much. Seriously??? Hey I know I’m kinda lazy too but jeez!!!
I guess the restrooms if you have small kids would be a good idea. So how do you maneuver the stroller, watch out for the kids and shake the app? That’s one talented woman there girl. I’m STILL laughing, I can’t help myself.
Enjoyed the post, you always find the neatest things to share with us even if they are silly. You can’t help it, you didn’t create them. ๐
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Oh, Adrienne, I would have bought an iPhone just for this app when my kids were young. I’m sure people will wonder why someone is shaking their phone and then running with their kids. That would be really funny to see, even if you knew what was going on!
Thanks for the smile. ๐

Wow, it even has lots of UK malls. Great app!

Hi Stephanie, You’re right, FastMall is a great app. Check out the malls in Singapore, Dubai and Norway too!
Thanks so much for your awesome comment! ๐

Now if I can use that app to get my kids beyond the end of summer blues all will be great. ๐
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Jack, Welcome to The Wonder of Tech! I bet you can get a giggle out of your kids with the shake feature of FastMall. Either that or finding their favorite ice cream store at the mall. ๐
Thanks so much for your visit and your great comment!

Very cool app. An amazing app to those who love convenience. All things are made easy now with our technology today.
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Mamie, Welcome to The Wonder of Tech! Yes, I love it when technology makes things easier. Sometimes it’s hard to imagine life before technological advances such as GPS devices, cell phones, etc.
FastMall definitely makes life easier, reducing the stress of shopping and enabling you to shop more efficiently!
Thanks so much, Mamie, for your visit and brilliant comment. ๐

I think that the all the “back to school” phrases will always make me feel a little ill, I used to hate them as a kid and still do!
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Kev, Welcome to The Wonder of Tech! There were years I dreaded school starting and other years I looked forward to it. As a mom, I now find it a very exciting time of the year, though quite busy.
Thanks so much for your visit and your comment, Kev!

Hi Carolyn,
My kids are out of school, so no school shopping for me, but the app sounds great as the holidays are right around the corner. Thanks for sharing!

Indeed, there are so many applications that can help us in our daily activities. I must admit that I take advantage of these applications. I’m using such applications for my work or for my personal needs (like budgeting, grocery list, recipe, etc.) so I will also consider this app. Especially that I don’t used to memorize all stalls inside our mall here. Thanks for sharing!
