Business having fun, I can think of a few ways business could use this (Sadly, that doesn’t apply to me, but hey that’s not going to stop me from checking this out).
Perhaps I can write a blog post about it? 😀
Anyways, it seems interesting and the fact that they are going to pay you – even better (In a way, it’s sort of like Youtube, right? Well, G+ hangouts on air, I suppose).
Anyways, thank you for sharing this, Carolyn 🙂 Appreciate it!

Great idea for businesses to use Hang w/ to spread the word and raise revenue. They could perhaps use Hang w/ for marketing campaigns and promotion of new products. They could reward customers who join the hangout with prizes, deals, coupons, etc.
Yes, Hang w/ is similar to YouTube live broadcasts and Google Plus Hangouts. Hang w/ is very easy to use from the app, both to view and broadcast your own live stream.
Adrienne says
Hey Carolyn,
This does look a lot live just the live streams and Google Hangouts but I’m assuming that there is no audience participation. Could you imagine having thousands of people watching a live stream and everyone wants to be heard!
As you mentioned in your comment to Jeevan, I was thinking that this might be a smart way for businesses to get more viewers by perhaps giving them something to participate. I’m sure that would definitely bring more brand awareness.
Another cool app. and I’m sure it’s a big hit now.
Always keeping us informed, thank you.

Hi Adrienne, Yes, there is audience participation, which is a lot of fun. You can interact with the broadcasters and the other viewers, which can be an amazing experience!
Yes, I don’t know whether Hang w/ will expand to businesses, but it’s a great idea!

Carolyn,
This looks like a fun thing to do but all I can think is it would be a huge time waster if you were not careful.
I try to avoid things that I can waste a lot of time at.
I do agree with Jeevan and Adrienne though that it could be a great business tool.
It would also be fun to hang w/ a few celebrities.
Fun to learn about something I have not seen yet.
Thanks for a great post.

Hi Dee Ann, Yes, you’re right, Hang w/ can be very addictive. Once you get into it you start wondering who’s hanging out right now.
As with all social media you need to budget your time so you don’t get consumed with it and spend too much time on Hang w/!
