How to Block Callers on Your iPhone in 2 Easy Steps!

The estimated reading time for this post is 3 minutes

Q. I’ve been getting annoying calls from a certain someone and a friend of mine told me I could block callers on my iPhone. I forget how to do it, I should have been paying attention when she told me how to do it.

Can you write an article about how to block a caller on an iPhone? The sooner the better, please!

A. Sure, blocking a number on your iPhone is easy and free. You can block calls from a number whether or not they’re in your Contacts. By blocking callers you can avoid annoying people bothering you with phone calls, FaceTime video calls and text messages.

    Hi Carolyn,
Very useful info, but I have another problem. How do you unsubscribe from emails when they don’t
    have the “unsubscribe” feature.
    thanks,
    Carlo

Hi Carlo, Great question, and I’m pretty sure you’re asking about the new Gmail Unsubscribe feature from The Wonder of Tech article, Breaking Tech News: Gmail Unsubscribe, Russian Hackers, and More!. If you aren’t using Gmail or the sender doesn’t have Unsubscribe next to its name, you should look for an Unsubscribe link, usually at the end of the email. Be careful about clicking on links if you don’t recognize the sender of the email though.

Fortunately I don’t have anyone I need to block….yet; but if I do, I’ll know how to keep them away.

Hi Dave, Yes, blocking callers on the iPhone is easy to do and free. Many people didn’t know it could be done or how to do it. Some phone companies used to charge for this service but now it’s free!

    Hey Caroline,

Although I have never came across anything like that from months but a year back there is a caller who keeps on calling me at odd times to sell his Insurance schemes. For few times he called me up from the official number which I blocked straight away but after some time he started calling me from personal number and later I found out that he is the same guy…so I blocked him again. Also, I installed and app named True-caller which tells me who is calling and from where so its now quite easy to block the number before I pick up the unwanted call from anyone.

Hi Aditya, I’m so sorry that happened to you but I’m very glad you figured out a way to block that guy. I can’t imagine he was very successful in sales by treating people that way!

    Hey Carolyn,

I was actually talking to my niece last week about this.

My niece had a person bothering her and she easily had that number blocked and told me about it because it actually started when I was with her. I thought you had to call your carrier but this is great news.

I am getting some text spam messages so this will come in handy for those.

Thank you for sharing this with us and sorry I’m so late getting by here.

    ~Adrienne

Hi Adrienne, I’m so glad you found this helpful for you and your niece. Yes, the great thing is that this can block not only phone calls but text messages and FaceTime calls too.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us, Adrienne!
