The camera app on your iPhone means you always have a camera ready to take the perfect shot. As long as you have your phone with you, you’re ready to take that photo of your adorable baby, precious pet, memorable sports moment, breathtaking sunset, or another life event you want to remember.
But how often do you fumble to turn on your phone, find the camera app, then open it, only to find you missed that perfect shot?
The good news is that there are four easy ways to open your camera app quickly to maximize your chances of getting that perfect shot in time every time. Check out these ways of getting to your camera app quickly and easily.
Swipe the Lock Screen to the Left
You can easily access the camera without even looking at your iPhone. Press the power button or tap the screen. Then swipe the lock screen to the left.
Voila! The camera app will open and you can start taking photos or videos right away!
Tap the Camera Icon on Your Lock Screen
The lock screen on your iPhone has two handy icons at the bottom of the screen: the flashlight on the left and the camera on the right.
Press the power button to view the lock screen, then tap the camera icon. The camera app will open.
Note => your iPhone does not have to be unlocked for the camera icon on the lock screen to open the camera app. If you don’t want to allow this access to your camera, you can turn off this feature in Settings.
Ask Siri to Open Your Camera App
If you’re in a place where you can talk (as in not a theater, library, school play, etc.), you can ask Siri to open the camera app.
Use “Hey, Siri”
If you have Hey, Siri turned on, say, “Hey Siri, open the camera app.” The camera app will open.
To turn on “Hey, Siri”, open the Settings app, tap Siri & Search => Listen for Siri => On
Press and hold the Power Button
If you don’t have Hey, Siri turned on (and don’t want to turn it on), you can use the power button on your iPhone to summon Siri. Press and hold the power button until you see the Siri swirling circle appear at the bottom of your screen. then say, “Open the camera app.”
The camera app will open.
Keep the Camera App in Your iPhone Dock
If you often need to take photos quickly, you can put the camera app in your dock. The dock is the bottom bar on your phone that appears on every screen. You can put your most-used apps there to keep them handy.
By putting your camera app in the dock, you’ll be able to access it quickly from any home screen page.
To move the camera app to your dock, press and hold the camera app icon until it jiggles. Then, slide the icon down the screen into your dock. Lift your finger, then tap any open space on the screen so the app icons stop jiggling.
Use Control Center
When your iPhone is unlocked, you can slide your finger down from the upper right corner of the screen to open Control Center. You can open Control Center from the home screen or when you have an app open. Just slide open Control Center, tap the camera app icon and the camera app will open.
Note => You can rearrange the icons in Control Center (and add/delete other controls) in Settings. Open the Settings app -> Control Center to see a list of controls.
You can add or delete controls by tapping the green + or red – buttons. Press and hold the three stacked lines next to each control to rearrange the order they appear in Control Center.
