If you have an Internet connection (and I think you do because you’re reading this article), you’ve probably streamed videos. You may be a binge-watcher who plows through a show’s season as soon as you can. Or perhaps you’re a casual viewer, looking for a movie to help you escape your world for a few hours.
No matter how you watch streaming videos, you may find JustWatch a big help. This free app is available around the world and just may change how you find and watch streaming shows and movies.
What Is JustWatch?
JustWatch is a free app that’s available in 80 countries to help you with your video streaming. The app connects to 500 legal streaming services globally to help you find shows to watch. JustWatch lists over 90,000 movies and shows, complete with trailers, synopsis, cast lists, and ratings, as well as where to watch them.
Signing Up for a Free JustWatch Account
You don’t need an account to use JustWatch, but signing up for an account makes the app work better for you. With a JustWatch account, you can build a Watchlist of your favorite shows and shows you want to watch, and get notifications when new seasons or episodes are available. Your Watchlist can sync between devices so you can easily access it on your TV and on your mobile device.
Keeping Track of Your Favorite Shows
One of my favorite features of JustWatch is your Watchlist which keeps track of your favorite shows and movies as well as those you want to watch in the future.
When you search for a show on JustWatch, you can add it to your Watchlist by tapping Track show.
Then select whether you’ve watched all of the episodes, none of the episodes, or somewhere in between.
You can also vote whether you liked or disliked a show or movie, to help JustWatch give you personalized recommendations.
By choosing Track show, you’re letting JustWatch know that you want to be in the know when future episodes or seasons are released. No more need to try to keep track of when the next season is coming. JustWatch will notify you when the next season or episode of a show on your Watchlist is available.
You can also add movies to your Watchlist and see where they’re available to stream as well as the prices to rent or buy it. If the movie is only available to watch in theaters, JustWatch can notify you when a movie becomes available to stream.
Finding Shows and Movies to Watch
With all those streaming choices, you might feel overwhelmed, but JustWatch can help you sift through the shows and movies easily.

Get inspiration to watch popular and highly-rated shows and movies. Or check out the newest videos to stream. Discover shows by category such as thrillers, true crime, biographies, comedies, documentaries, and more. Find fun categories such as “Long, Weird List of Movies” or “For when you don’t have too much time but you still want to enjoy a good movie.”
JustWatch will also recommend shows and movies based on your preferences. Save shows and movies you want to watch to your Watchlist to find them easily later.
Finding Where to Watch Shows and Movies
When you first use JustWatch, the app will ask you which streaming services you use. Then, when you search for a show or movie on JustWatch, the results page will show you where you can watch it so you don’t have to search across all of the streaming services to find it.
If a show or movie isn’t available free on your streaming services, JustWatch can show you where you can rent or buy it, along with the prices. You can also set up notifications for price drops for paid videos.
JustWatch Play On TV
If you have the JustWatch app on both your mobile device and your TV, you can send a show or movie from your device to your TV using the apps. After you select a show, tap the Play on TV button to send the show to your TV.
Note that you must be logged into your JustWatch TV account on both the TV and mobile apps to use Play on TV. Go to the app on your mobile device and tap Connect Your TV to log into your JustWatch account and set up Play on TV.
Availability
JustWatch is an app that’s free to download and use. It’s available for:
- JustWatch for Android
- JustWatch for iPhone/iPad/Apple TV
- JustWatch for Fire TV
- JustWatch for LG TVs
- JustWatch for Samsung TVs
- JustWatch for Xbox
A premium subscription is available to remove ads on the app and for other features. But you will likely find that the free version is all you need to enhance your streaming enjoyment.
JustWatch is available in 80 countries for 500 legal streaming services, though not all countries have all streaming services.

I had never heard of this streaming service, and looks pretty decent and interesting. Definitely will check them out. I am huge into binging web series, and mostly on netflix/prime.

I just signed up for this app and it looks very promising. Often when I read about an app like this it only works in the United States. This app is actually working in little Denmark. With this app it will be lot easier to find a good movie or a serie that actually is on one of my streaming services.
