What do brewing your own beer and sending your kids off to camp have in common? Both endeavors need labels for success. So do plenty of other endeavors, which is why you may want to check out Labeley.
This website is a free and easy way to create your own labels that, well, don’t look like you made them. Labeley has lots of options for colors, styles, fonts, shapes and more to make your homemade labels look professional.
Using Labeley
Labeley is a website to help you design labels. Your labels can be printed on your printer for free, or you can pay to have Labeley print them.
Labeley can print your designs onto different materials, including shiny and matte papers, vinyl stock or specialty materials that are moisture-resistant. The company ships labels worldwide and pricing varies based on quantity and material.
Designing Labeley Labels
If you’ve ever edited a photo online using a photo editing site, you’ll be familiar with the layout of Labeley. You can choose different colors, fonts, shapes and more to create your labels.
Labeley lets you upload your own photos to personalize the labels. Businesses can use their logos to create custom labels.
To get started, head to the Labeley website and click the Design tab at the top of the page to see a quick tutorial of how to create a label. When you’re ready to get started, click the green See it in Action button at the bottom of the page. A more complete tutorial is available at the Intro to Labeley page.
Choose which type of label you want to create: General, Kids, Beer or Wine. Exploring each category is worthwhile as each has unique creative tools you may want to use.
Designing the labels is fun, you can play around with different shapes, looks, graphics and images. Create an account to save your labels. Print them and share them with others via social media and email.
Labeley also can get you started with suggestions for different types of labels such as birthday, back-to-school, pantry, shoes and more.
Ideas for Using Labels
Camp
Parents know that if you want anything to return from camp, it needs to be labeled. Don’t even think about sending your child off to camp without adding labels aplenty. But labeling everything can be a tedious chore that makes leaving for camp a lot less fun.
Labeley can put fun back into the packing process. Have your kids design their own labels so each one has a unique look.
Businesses
Businesses can also get in on the fun. Have employees design labels for a new product using the company logo, and award a prize for the winning design.
Safety
Labels can also make products safer. Design an alert label for your child’s lunch box and backpack, advising of allergies and health conditions.
School
School supplies can be labeled too. Design a label for a new school year so your child’s items can be identified.
Beverages
If you brew your own beer or make your own wine, you can create custom labels for each batch.
Entertaining
Use labels when you entertain to decorate a party, create wedding favors, print name cards and create ornaments. Choose a theme for the event and include a photo of the guest of honor on your labels.
Pantry
If you do your own canning or want to organize your spices, you can use Labeley to design labels for your pantry.
Your Thoughts
Have you ever created your own labels? What would you use labels for? Have you tried Labeley?

Hi Carolyn,
I like the look of this, I’m going to try it. It might be useful for doing small logos too. I’ve done lots of labels and so it will be interesting to do it differently. I used to make wine and so I was always experimenting with different labelling.
It keeps raining here. It waterlogged the park so our party in the park had to be cancelled. I’m hoping for a nice day for the carnival! 🙂

Hi Mike, I thought of you as I was researching this article. I remembered your wine recipes on your blog and thought what cool labels you could make for your wine. You could use some of your amazing photos as the background images for your labels!
