Hi Carolyn,
Just the post I expected, with Mother’s Day just round the corner, and trust you to give us the best π
I wish my Mom was with me and I could have chosen something for her. But sadly she isn’t, though even if she were, she asked for nothing but love and our time from us. I guess it’s the small things in life that matter, isn’t it? Yet, each Mother’s Day we’d get her a little gift within our budget, knowing she needed it. Of course, these are a little more trendy ones for her – but I’d forward these to my kids so they can choose something for me instead now….lol….a good reminder for them indeed.
Thanks for sharing. Have a nice week ahead π
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Harleena, I completely understand. As you know, I lost my mother when I was young and Mother’s Days used to be very sad until I became a mom. I do still miss her but I get a lot of joy now from celebrating the day with my girls.
I tried to include a variety of gifts, both fun and useful, so that Wonder of Tech readers can get inspiration for their mothers or themselves!

Hi Carolyn,
A solar bank is probably something my mom would really love. Her phone is always with her, and she doesn’t charge it on a frequent basis, so it turns out that the battery is either low or her phone is out of battery fairly often. So, a solar bank would be awesome for her.
And, she sure isn’t getting the Apple Watch before me (just kidding) π
Have a wonderful week.
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Jens, Good point, people should make sure that their moms don’t already have an Apple Watch on order. But if they do, then you can keep it for yourself! π
Lee says
Carolyn,
Here’s a better wire storage device I use at home and for travel. Much cheaper:

Lee says
Actually our local Batteries+ store has individual applecores which are under $5 apiece.
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Thanks for sharing that with us, Lee. Yes, if someone needs a lot of cable organizers, this is a good choice. I appreciate you recommending those to us.

LOL I SEE A FEW THING THAT CRACK ME UP LIKE THE SELFIE BRUSH! I picked up a Lensbaby attachment for my iPhone 6 and live it. You can have sift focus around the pint you designate. They are coming out with mire so keep an eye on them. Just put this and Olioclip in your purse and good to go!
Great suggestions. I hope your girls read this for some ideas!
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Robin, Thanks for the Lensbaby suggestion! I love hearing ideas from Wonder of Tech readers about great tech gifts.
I hope my girls read this too and, if they do, the Playbulb candle looks like a wonderful gift for Mom! (hint, hint…)
The HTC RE camera is also a really useful device. I got to try it out at a recent Verizon Innovation event and was really impressed with all it could do.
The Selfie Brush is a unique gift that could be a lot of fun for moms or even brides!
Adrienne says
Hey Carolyn,
I like the Play Bulb Candles the best. So is that an actual candle or just a light you can control with your phone? It doesn’t seem like it’s a real candle but Mom would really like that. Especially when we travel because she needs a light on so she can make her way to the restroom late at night.
The selfie brush, are they really serious? They are really grasping at things now aren’t they? I’d be shocked to learn how many people are buying that. They do keep me entertained though.
More great shares Carolyn, thanks for these and Happy Mother’s Day!
~Adrienne
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Adrienne, Great question. The Playbulb is a lightbulb, not a flame, so you don’t have to worry about a fire. That’s a wonderful idea for how your mom can use it. You can even make the nightlight her favorite color!
Yes, I try to include fun and unique tech gifts in my lists and the selfie brush certainly is both of those. Imagine the lucky moms who get a selfie brush on Mother’s Day!
Oclides Rosa says
my mother will love the HTC RE by Verizon, thank you for the tip, every year I have doubts as to buy
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hello Oclides, Welcome to The Wonder of Tech! Yes, buying for moms can be quite challenging, but tech gifts make it much easier. I tested the HTC RE at a recent Verizon event and was very impressed with its features. I hope she enjoys her new camera!
Ethan says

Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Ethan, I’m so glad you like the wooden phone case. It fits many iPhone and Samsung models and comes in a variety of woods and engraving styles. Whether you get it for yourself or your mom, I hope you enjoy it!
Arbaz K says
My mom isn’t tech savvy but I think she would love to have one of the above products.
I really liked the colorful charge cords, playbulb candles and wave cable holder. These are the items that she can use without any issues.
Thanks for sharing these amazing items to gift our mothers! π
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Arbaz, Exactly, moms don’t have to be tech-savvy to appreciate these tech gifts. Add a little fun and color into her life with the gifts you mentioned!
Dennis Seymour says
Great collection of tech gift ideas Carolyn. If I were to choose only one, I would gladly go for power bank. I have been contemplating on sending one for my mom this special day for moms…. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mother’s and soon to be mothers out there.
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Dennis, Yes, I like solar chargers because they’re so easy to keep charged and you never have to worry about your phone’s battery dying. I hope you and your mom have a very special Mother’s Day together!
Sherryl Perry says
Hi Carolyn,
This was a fun post! I got lots of ideas for gifts but I honestly can’t imagine any of these being a good fit for my mom. She turns 87 on Mother’s Day! I think for her, flowers, dinner and some yard work will be my best choice.
Thanks for the suggestions!
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Sherryl, I’m glad you enjoyed this post but I respectfully disagree that your mother would enjoy flowers, dinner and yard work more than a tech gift. That’s crazy talk!
Any mom would prefer a tech gift over anything else for certain. Your mom might like the Playbulb candle as a nightlight. You can make it her favorite color. Or perhaps the robot. Hey, maybe she could get the robot to do the yard work! π
Happy Birthday and Mother’s Day to your mom, Sherryl!
