Whether you want to be entertained and/or escape from reality, streaming Netflix shows is a great way to do both. You can while away the hours binge-watching shows from Squid Game to Money Heist to Anne with an E without ever being interrupted by a commercial.
Now Netflix is offering its subscribers a new way to enjoy themselves — Netflix Games. For no extra cost, subscribers can now have fun playing games in addition to streaming shows.
Netflix, the best streaming service of 2021 according to CNET, is trying to stay ahead of the competition by adding games for no additional subscription fee. See, CNET Best streaming service of 2021: Netflix, Disney Plus, HBO Max, Hulu, ESPN Plus and more

Games will automatically become available to Netflix subscribers at no added cost. The company explained, “All you need is a Netflix subscription — there’s no ads, no additional fees and no in-app purchases. (Don’t let the demogorgon tell you otherwise).”
Games are now available in the Netflix app for Android phones and tablets. Initially, five games are offered in the app, “with a whole lot more coming.”
These first games include:
- Stranger Things: 1984
- Stranger Things 3: The Game
- Shooting Hoops
- Card Blast
- Teeter Up.
The company plans to add more games, “we’re just getting started. We’re excited to continue improving our mobile gaming experience and adding to our entertainment offering in the months ahead.”
Some games require access to the Internet to play while others can be downloaded for playing offline.

If you’ve set up profiles in your Netflix account, each profile can play games separately. But, as with watching shows on Netflix, you cannot exceed the device limit on your account when playing Netflix games. If that happens, just sign out from a device or deactivate a device remotely at netflix.com.
For Adults Only
For now, Netflix is restricting access to games to adults. If you have child profiles on your Netflix account, they will not have access to games. If you’ve set a PIN restriction for access to adult content, that PIN will be required to access games.
How to Play Netflix Games
To play Netflix games, update your Netflix Android app to the version dated November 4, 2021 or later. Open the Netflix app and log into your account. Select your profile. Access Netflix Games from the app home page or the games tab. Download the game(s) you want to play.
Let the games begin!

Availability
Games are available for subscribers around the world on the Netflix app for Android phones and tablets. According to Netflix, games on iOS for iPhone and iPad are “on the way.”
For an interesting analysis of how Netflix Games may become available on iOS see The Verge Netflix will reportedly make games available via the App Store on iOS.
This update to the Netflix Android app is rolling out to users around the world. The games match the language set in the user profile. According to Netflix, “Our mobile games are available in many of the languages we offer on service, so your games will automatically default to the preference set in your Netflix profile. If your language is not yet available, games will default to English.”

Hi Carolyn
I have noticed the new games available in Netflix. It is not something I expect I will be using, but maybe it will be a factor to keep some subscribers as customers. I wonder why these games are not available for kids. That make no sense if you ask me.

Hi Thomas, That’s a great idea for Netflix to expand its games to include ones for children. That may help it compete with Disney+ for families who want to be entertained. Perhaps as Netflix expands the number of games it offers, they will begin to offer children’s games.
