In yesterday’s post, Google+: What’s the Buzz About?, comments were so divided about the future of Google+ that I have to wonder: what does the future hold for Google+?
From the comments received here on The Wonder of Tech and on a Google+ hangout I joined last night, there may very well be a clear winner in the social media battle. People are tired of checking multiple sites and aren’t eager to add another site to their list of logins. Yet while people say they don’t want a lot of sites to check, they also don’t want to bet on the wrong site.
What do you think? Will Google+ rule social media in a year or will it be long gone and forgotten? Vote in the poll below and let us know.
I also wonder how many of you are on Google+ now. Yesterday’s comments made me curious about how widely Google+ has been adopted by Wonder of Tech readers less than three weeks after launch. Please let us know in the Comments section below whether you are on Google+ or are eagerly awaiting an invitation.
For those of you excited about Google+ but still waiting for an invitation, don’t expect any sympathy from Jimmy Fallon or Seth Green…

Amazon News
The Wall Street Journal is reporting today that Amazon will launch an Android tablet along with two new Kindle models in October: Amazon to Battle Apple iPad With Tablet. Predictions are that the Amazon tablet is designed to compete with the iPad, other Android tablets and/or the Nook. With Amazon offering its own Android App Store, streaming movies, and cloud music service, an integrated Amazon Android tablet could be very compelling, as long as the features and pricing are competitive.
The two new Kindle models include a touch screen Kindle and a lower priced non-touch screen model. For those who can’t wait until October’s predicted launch of these new Kindles, Amazon announced yesterday that its 3G + Wi-Fi Kindle is now available for $139, $50 off the regular price of $189, with Special Offers. Special Offers means that there is advertising on the screen saver with special discounts off of Amazon gift cards, Kindle books and other Amazon products. Check it out here:Kindle 3G + Wi-Fi with Special Offers.
Also, be sure to check out today’s free Android app from Amazon’s App Store, iCookbook. This app has over 2,000 recipes and comes complete with images, search categories and a timer.

I’m so, SO curious about the future of Google +, so great idea for a poll, Carolyn! It’s so interesting to see that Google + is currently leading the pack based on your readers. I voted for Facebook, not that I have a strong opinion about it, but I’m already comfortable there. =P To me, the biggest advantage of Google + is “Circles,” but I don’t mind too much that everyone sees my activity on FB.
I love Martha Giffen’s philosophy. She has always said that she likes having her friends, family, colleagues and business acquaintances all in one places because she wants to treat *everyone* as good friends of hers!

Hi Samantha, Wow, I love Martha Giffen’s philosophy too. No point in treating someone differently just because you haven’t had the pleasure of getting to know them yet!
I like the idea of Circles, not necessarily because I want to limit my sharing, but because I want to read posts from the different circles separately. I might read my friends’ posts first, then on to people I know less well. But I guess that would violate Martha’s rule…
Thanks so much for your visit, comment and tweet, Samantha!
