Do you have a favorite app that you open first every day? Is there an app that gives you the information you need to start your day right? Yesterday, in App News: NCAA March Madness, Zite, Google and More!, I told you about my new “go to” app, Zite, which gives me the news I want in a beautiful format.
What is your “go to” app? If you don’t have a smartphone or a tablet, what type of website do you visit first when you turn on your computer? Please let us know in the comments below which app or website is your “go to” favorite.

Looking for a unique cover for your iPad, Kindle or Nook? Check out M-Edge where you can custom design your device covers with your own photos, designs, colors, etc. You also can choose from designs on their site, including New Yorker covers, covers from books or covers other users have shared on the M-Edge site. The site even has a video to walk you through the process of designing your own cover. I haven’t tried a custom designed cover, but I do have an M-Edge cover for my Kindle which I highly recommend.
If you design your own M-Edge cover and want to share it with us, please send a picture to [email protected].

My favorite app to open when I wake up is Facebook. Sometimes Facebook tells me whether school is closed or not 🙂

Hi Arielle, Welcome back to The Wonder of Tech! Great idea to check Facebook to start off the day in a good mood, knowing school is open!
Ella says
I play solitaire. I won’t leave my bed until I win.
I like the idea of the Bible app. I’m going to switch to that. Much more productive & inspiring. Thanks.
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Ella, Welcome to The Wonder of Tech. I have to agree, playing solitaire until you win could be an unproductive start to the day. Inspiration is a much better idea.

I have a Bible app on my iphone by You Vision that I open first thing in the morning. They have reading plans for you to read the Bible in a year. I find strength in starting my day that way.

Hi Anna, Welcome to The Wonder of Tech! The YouVersion Bible app is a great one. What a wonderful idea to be inspired first thing in the morning, much better than reading depressing news to start your day.
Joe says
I check sports scores first, then email, then news.
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Joe, Welcome back to The Wonder of Tech! You sound as if you have your morning routine all worked out. Hopefully your teams do well and put you in a good mood for the start of the day!

Hm, well I use the Weather Channel app every morning. Gmail and google voice throughout the day, not to mention the music player or audible (depending on the drive length). Maps of course. One of my favorite apps is Gmote. It allows ms to access my media on my compy via wifi and can be uses as a touch pad mouse and wireless keyboard. Oh and the thrice cursed alarm clock
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Matt, Welcome back to The Wonder of Tech! Gmote sounds like a great app, allowing you to use your Android phone as a remote for your computer. There is a similar app on the iPhone called Remote that can control your keyboard and mouse on your computer. One time I synced my Remote app on my iPhone to my husband’s computer and took over the typing function from him as a joke. He thought he was typing something but the words on the screen did not at all resemble what he had typed. The joke didn’t last long because I was laughing so hard. He thought it was funny too, but asked me not to do it again.

It hasn’t been designed yet but it would be the one that says: You don’t have any coffee yet Idiot because you forget to plug in the coffee pot.

Hi Riley, Welcome to The Wonder of Tech! That would be a good app, or how about an app that plugs in the coffee pot for you?
