Portable North Pole: Santa’s Personal Video for You!
_________________________________
Ho Ho Ho! You can send a personalized video message from Santa to a child or adult, complete with their name, picture, age, desired present and other information. Any child who believes in Santa would love to watch a video with Santa saying his or her name and other personal information, making it seem as if Santa were speaking to him or her directly.
You start by going to Portable North Pol and entering the basic information about the child, including first name, gender, age, country of residence and other information about the child.
[note] Those with privacy concerns can check out the privacy policy of Portable North Pole. [/note]
You can also request that a birthday video be created by providing the child’s birthday date.
One feature I especially like is the ability to choose how Santa pronounces your child’s name. I checked this out with my name and was able to get Santa to pronounce my name correctly by checking “Carolynne” instead of “Carolyn.” ( The latter choice made Santa pronounce my name as “Caroline”.) Make sure to use this feature so Santa gets the child’s name right!
You tell Santa whether the child has been naughty or nice, as well as what has been expected of her this year. You have a choice of including a present the child has asked for so Santa can mention it. If you don’t want Santa to spill the beans, just leave that box unchecked.
You can upload some pictures of the child which will be included in the video to enhance the feeling that Santa is really talking to the child.
Lastly, you enter information about yourself so the video can be sent to you via email. You have the choice of sending the video to another email as well. You can preview the video before you send it to make sure that Santa has all of his information correct!
Here is a sample video that was created by Portable North Pole for Christmas 2010 so you get a general idea of what the site provides:
The Christmas 2011 video is quite different but equally charming!
You can also send a personal Santa video to an older child or an adult. This video is very entertaining for everyone!
If you would like to send a personal message from Santa, check out Portable North Pole today!
Do you know a child who would love a personal message from Santa? Would you like to send this to someone you know? Let us know in the Comments section below!

Awesome Carolyn!
Just what I needed for my kids this Christmas! I had been thinking of doing something new and different for my girls, to convey things to them that otherwise are tough to get across.
This method of sending a message through Santa would be the ideal thing for them. Something that they would readily accept and enjoy as well. 🙂
Wish I could get messages as well from someone 🙂 Guess I need to go back in time and become a child once again!!
Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful piece of information and lovely site.
Love the bright and happy picture of Santa- you already make it feel like Christmas 🙂
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Harleena, I’m so glad you like this video! You’re right, children will love this personal message from Santa! You might want to check your email inbox to see if Santa has a special message for you. :-bd
Harleena Singh says
🙂 I can’t thank you enough for the wonderful message from Santa!! You made my day!
I loved it and was smiling right from one ear to another 🙂
But I am not 25 as Santa thought me to be, but I take that as a wonderful compliment!! 🙂
Merry Christmas in advance to you Carolyn- as I already feel warm with Santa in North Pole now 🙂
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
I couldn’t let a Wonder of Tech reader’s wish go un-granted now, could I? I’m so glad you liked it, Harleena! I had fun putting that together for you. I just guessed at the age, I’m glad you took it as a compliment!
Very merry Christmas to you and your family, Harleena!
Amber Avines says
What a fun idea! Thanks for sharing this, Carolyn. Every parent should have a blast with this!
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Amber, you’re right! I don’t know whether this is more fun for kids or their parents! Everyone can have fun with this site!
Jerry says
Thanks for telling us about this! Very cute. How do you find this stuff? Why do you care if I’m human?
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Jerry, A Wonder of Tech reader told me about this great site. I welcome the opportunity to share cool sites, apps, etc. from readers so please let me know if you find any awesome tech you would like me to share.
I care if you’re human because of all of the spam bots out there who are clever enough to leave a comment but not clever enough to check a box.
I wish I didn’t have to care if you are human, but this device is simple for commenters to use but is a challenge to spam bots!
Mike Maynard says
Hi Carolyn,
I have been pronouncing you name right after all. 🙂
I have just nominated you for an award for Best Writer of 2011 – details here – http://thedarkglobe.wordpress.com/2011/12/13/the-dark-globe-outstanding-artist-awards/#comment-302
Good luck!
I must do today’s blog; I think we will be out taking photos of a lake when the ice thaws on my car. I’m making plans so I can get some good snow pictures; that’s not as easy as it sounds! Just getting out of the avenue I live in when it snows will be a challenge.
The latest techy news is to type “Let it Snow” into Google!
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Wow, thank you, Mike! I am truly honored and touched that you nominated me for Writer of the Year. Out of sincerity, not gratitude, I nominated you for photographer of the year. Your Neo-Digital Art posts are not only beautiful, they are educational as well.
I will check out the Google site. Thanks for letting us know about that, Mike! 🙂
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Very cool, Let It Snow on Google!
Bill Dorman says
Ok, ok; we’ll make sure we have your name pronounced correctly if we send you one of these………….:).
Technology, what will they think of next, huh? I think the young kids would really get a kick out of this.
Thanks for sharing. Hope your weekend went well.
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Lol, Bill, I’m good either way. In Europe a lot of people called me “Caroline”, but it sounded much better with an accent than “Carolyn”. Wait a minute…you have an accent! :-bd
Anna says
So cute post!! really amused me and make me feel X-mas for a while (after the horrible week ever) Great info here and perfectly written:)
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Anna, I’m so glad this post made your week a little brighter. Just remember Santa will be here soon!
Hope next week goes much better for you! 🙂
Hamish says
Hi Carolyn,
Thanks for sharing that.
We were in stitches watching my youngest son’s face when he saw his video from Santa.
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Hamish, I’m happy this video brought joy to you and your son! This video is fun to make, but when you see your child’s reaction, it can be precious!
Have a great week, Hamish! 🙂
Praveen Rajarao says
This is cool, thanks for sharing Carolyn.
I also happened to see another awesome Santa tool this year here – icaughtsanta.com.
You just need to take some pictures of your living room or dining room or kitchen and then you can superimpose a picture of santa on it, which makes it appear to your kid that Santa was indeed in the house.
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Praveen, That site looks adorable. Looks like there are a lot of ways to mess with a child’s reality! I like that with the I Caught Santa Site you can choose from a lot of different poses for Santa. I will have to check that out! 🙂
Adrienne says
Wow, what a cool idea. I’m going to have to send this to both of my nieces because I’m sure they have some young children that would get a huge kick out of this. This really is a great idea and something very different.
By the way Carolyn, I love the snow falling down. Aren’t you the creative one. I love that, how fun!
Now, enjoy your week young lady!
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Adrienne, Yes, young and old alike are delighted by this fun, fun video.
I’m glad you like the snow. It’s a free plugin called Let It Snow that helps put your blog in a holiday mood!
I hope your week is amazing as well, Adrienne! (*)
Faran says
Hi Carolyn,
well the video is kinda fun but santa looks a little creepy. jk. anyways nice theme for the hollidays. hope you enjoy them too.
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Faran, You’re right, kids (or adults) could think it’s creepy that this old guy knows so much about them. But so far, the reaction has been pure delight!
Thanks, I’m glad you like the theme! The snow is temporary, not part of the theme, just a bit of festivity for the season! 🙂
Jens P. Berget says
Hi Carolyn,
This is awesome. I’m going to test this with some Norwegian names 🙂
Thanks.
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Jens, I will be interested in learning whether Santa could pronounce Norwegian names. I tried to get him to pronounce Harleena’s name, but it defaulter to “my friend.”
I hope your kids enjoy the videos! 🙂
Arielle says
There is an iphone app that does a similar thing called Magic Santa! And it’s free! You fill out information about your kid and it makes a video for them on your iphone! 🙂
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Arielle, Thanks for letting us know about Magic Santa. it looks like a great free app for the iPhone! Here is the link for anyone who is interested in getting this app from the iTunes Store: http://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/magic-santa/id400745567?mt=8.
julie says
heard about this site from one of my customers – would like to do it for a couple adult friends . how do i go about changing the information for their daily activities from the child ones
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Julie, Welcome to The Wonder of Tech! I prepared a video for several adults and I used the last choice on the list: “has a great big smile.” That seems to be the best choice for adults. 🙂
Cathy | Treatment Talk says
Hi Carolyn,
What a wonderful idea. Any child would love this. It would be fun for adults as well. It would definitely get a laugh. Thanks for sharing – isn’t it fun to use technology to make children happy?
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Cathy, You’re right, this is a great use of technology to bring delight to children. It’s very cool that Santa can deliver a personal message to the child directly. Adults can have fun sending videos to each other or watching the delight in their children’s eyes as the young ones are delighted with the videos!
ramata says

Carolyn, aloha. How great. The wonder and delight of the children watching these videos would create memories to last a laugh time.
Thanks for the introduction to this great tech which I am off to share with some friends. Aloha. Janet
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Janet, It’s also fun to make a video for adults and have them check it out too. Even adults get a kick out of this fun video! 🙂
Angel Collins says
This is such a great idea for Christmas. My kids would love to have their own video from Santa and who doesn’t right? I think I would also want to have a video for my Grandma. Haha! She’s really gonna enjoy it. 🙂
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Angel, Welcome to The Wonder of Tech. You’re right, this is fun for adults as well as kids! Let us know how Grandma likes her video from Santa, Angel! 🙂
