Quick Trick to Make Your Tweets Stand Out on Twitter!

The estimated reading time for this post is 1 minutes

When you want to stand out in a crowd, you might put on your best clothes, wear bright colors, wear a funny hat or sport an unusual hair style. But when you want to stand out on Twitter, well, that’s a bit more challenging.

Fun Twitter Fonts

Twitter is your opportunity to share your thoughts with the world, but how can you get the world to notice you?

Easy. Dress up your tweets with a bit of style! You can use this nifty tool to give your tweets pizzazz.

Under normal circumstances you can’t use fancy fonts or even use bold or italics to give your messages emphasis. But with this free tool from Panix, you can dress up your tweets or other messages in style.

Head to the Panix website and enter the characters you want to use and then click Show. Your message will display below in the styled fonts:

Twitter Font Tool

You can copy and paste your message into a tweet in the font(s) you want to use:

Unfortunately, this tool doesn’t work on Facebook, but it does work for messages on Pinterest. Play around with it to see if you can use it on your favorite social media site.

[note]Note to bloggers: don’t try to embed Panix fonts into your WordPress post (unless you’ve saved your draft first.) Just sayin’… [/note]

How do you make your tweets stand out on Twitter? Have you tried these fonts on Twitter or other social media sites? How would you use this cool tool? Let us know in the Comments section below!

    Hi Carolyn,

This might be useful. I’m hopeless at Twitter. I can do some fancy stuff and save it in a text file! #Ⓢⓐⓥⓔⓜⓞⓝⓔⓨ 🙂

Excellent example of rocking your text, Mike! I tried using this in the body of the article, but it destroyed the article. Thank goodness for saved drafts!

You can use this tech tool on Pinterest, which is where I share many of your amazing photos. :-bd

Hmm…I couldn’t get this trick to work in comments through the dashboard. Now trying on the site.

I still couldn’t get it to work. How did you do that in comments? 😕

        August 23, 2013 at 11:06 am

It works for me, but commentluv wouldn’t work last time.

        Ⓢⓐⓥⓔⓜⓞⓝⓔⓨ

I pasted that from a text file. I could be stripping code out…

        Ⓒⓗⓔⓒⓚ ⓞⓤⓣ Ⓣⓗⓔ Ⓦⓞⓝⓓⓔⓡ ⓞⓕ Ⓣⓔⓒⓗ!

Seems to work for me… 🙂

I tried it using Safari too, but I just couldn’t get the text to show in comments. My blog likes you better than me, lol!

Nice tool Carolyn. It’s always good to be able to stand out on social media, especially with all the competition out there.

    • Carolyn Nicander Mohr says

      August 23, 2013 at 10:41 am

Hi Frank, Yes, you’re right. It’s easy for your message to get lost in a Twitter stream so getting people to take notice is important!

    Hi Carolyn!

Neat! I always wonderful how people did this lol….and I see why your tweets stand out because a subtle or not so subtle difference in tweet font catches your eye, pronto.

Nope, I never used fonts before but will give ’em a shot and yes I will say “Hi” to Fitty for you 😉

    Thanks for sharing Carolyn!

Hi Ryan, I’m so glad you’re going to have fun with this! You’re right, a different font can definitely catch the eye and this trick will help your tweets get more attention.

Thanks for passing along my regards to your good buddy, Fitty. 🙂

Its an interesting idea to make people click on the link being tweeted (As followers wouldn’t have seen such text before, they’ll be tempted to click on it).I never though that twitter supports such unicode fonts ..Its amazing . I would be posting a tweet with the converted text . Thanks for sharing this information Carolyn .

Hi Pramod, Yes, this really works. Very cool. I would like to say that I figured out how to do it, but I didn’t. Hey, at least I can share the site of the coder who did figure it out! 🙂

      Enjoy your fabulous tweets!

I wondered how people did this! I’m normally in a tearing hurry when I’m posting on Twitter, but might try this for the odd Tweet when I’ve time.

Thanks for a fun share, Carolyn 🙂

Hi Sue, Yes, this takes just a few seconds to convert your text, but sometimes you just don’t have the time. If you do have the time, this is a lot of fun!

    Hi Carolyn,

As always, your posts are interesting and exciting. The idea is wonderful. I like it very much. Most people want their messages to stand out and try all kind of tricks (exactly like in the email marketing world). I think many will start to try it soon.

My only concern is the following: you can past your message into a tweet with the fonts of your choice but are you sure everybody will see it?

    Have a nice day

    • Carolyn Nicander Mohr says

      August 25, 2013 at 9:56 am

Hi Silviu, Thank you very much for your kind words.

Yes, this is a very cool, free trick and so easy to do.

I can’t guarantee that everyone will see your tweet if you use these fonts, but you can certainly get your money back if they don’t. 😉

Carolyn, I love this. I have always wanted to know how to make fancy characters, I’ve seen the @TheRedheadRiter always making very fancy things via special characters on Twitter. I can’t even do simple ones with my laptop keywords that could do with my old desktop 🙁 I can’t wait to try these out, thanks Carolyn! ᴛʜᴀɴᴋ Yᴏᴜ

    August 24, 2013 at 8:02 pm

Well, I have tried it in forums (not related to blogging, though), does that count? 😀

Some of these are very hard to read, so we might want to be careful with choosing.

I have never had the idea of trying this on Twitter (and I do want to stand out). This is excellent, Carolyn (only problem is what happens when everyone starts doing it 😛 – I mean, at least bloggers that we know that. We could find something else to stand out, huh?).

I think we can also use icons (I have seen some people use it – especially Ana from Trafficgenerationcafe – I have seen her using a coffee cup icon in Twitter).

    Thanks for the tip!

    • Carolyn Nicander Mohr says

      August 25, 2013 at 10:28 am

Hi Jeevan, That definitely counts! You’re right, standing out on forums is important too. You’re right, some of the fonts are very difficult to read so it’s best to stick with the ones that people can read.

Yes, if everyone reads The Wonder of Tech and starts using this trick, then perhaps using normal font will be what grabs people’s attention.

  12. Johan Bengtsson says

    August 24, 2013 at 8:36 pm

Good tip Carolyn, but also be aware that some people do not like all these special fonts. Too much of these and it just looks spammy…

    • Carolyn Nicander Mohr says

      August 25, 2013 at 10:29 am

Excellent point, Johan. It’s important to use these fonts sparingly. If you use them for every tweet, then they won’t be special and won’t stand out.

  13. Maddy says

    August 25, 2013 at 5:59 am

But carolyn, i am in a big problem. I am facing shortage of twitter followers. I am getting 4 to 10 Facebook likes per day, but only 1 or 2 twitter followers per week. I really don’t know he reason behind this. Please help me to increase my twitter followers. I think I should have a good following before creating a stand out post on twitter.

    • Carolyn Nicander Mohr says

      August 25, 2013 at 10:36 am

Hi Maddy, Perhaps a stand out tweet would help you to get more Twitter followers. Be sure to engage with others on Twitter. As with any social media site, you should focus on others more than focusing on yourself. Share and retweet others’ information. Respond to interesting tweets you see. Engage.

You could also try participating in Twitter chats https://wonderoftech.com/twitter-chats-get-together-with-tweets/ in topics you’re interested in to find people who will want to follow you.

Also try using #hashtags to make your tweets easier to find. https://wonderoftech.com/hashtags/

The more your tweets are interesting and engaging, the more people will want to follow you.

I was wondering how the heck you did that Carolyn and was going to get around to asking you but you saved me the trouble. I’ve received a few tweets from people and I thought well isn’t that special. You’re right, they do stand out.

Thanks for using mine as as example here and I did love that girl. That’s so cool so I’m going to bookmark that page right after I finish this comment.

Thank you Carolyn and hope you’re enjoying your weekend.

Hi Adrienne, Yes, I tested this out with a tweet to you and I knew if you were impressed, this was something special. I know when I see tweets with different fonts, I do notice them. Considering the traffic this article has received from Twitter, I would say that this method of getting people’s attention is extremely effective! :-bd
