The Best Times to Post on Social Media [Infographic]

The estimated reading time for this post is 3 minutes

Timing is everything, especially on social media. When you post on Facebook, tweet on Twitter or pin on Pinterest, you want your message to be seen. But posting at the wrong time can ruin your efforts and make sure that your message gets hidden in the darkest corners of the World Wide Web.

Social Media Scheduling Times

Knowing the best times to post on each social media site can give you the key to getting your message seen by the maximum number of people. Posting at the best times can make the difference between your posts being seen, shared and clicked, versus disappearing into obscurity.

This infographic by Neil Patel is a handy tool to show you the best times to post on

  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • LinkedIn
  • Pinterest
  • Instagram
  • Google Plus

Check out the infographic and see which times are best for your favorite social media sites:

Scheduling Social Media Posts

Following the guidance on this infographic could mean that you do nothing with your life other than waiting for the proper times to post on social media. Even if your job title is Social Media Manager you may want to do other things than wait around for the ideal times to post your messages.

The good news is that you don’t have to wait around to post at the best times. No need to schedule your life around posting on social media.

Instead you can use tools to schedule your posts ahead of time on social media. You can craft your posts and the set the time and date for those posts to publish to social media sites.

Buffer

Buffer is a tool that helps you to schedule posts on:

  • Twitter
  • Facebook
  • LinkedIn
  • Google Plus
  • Pinterest

Social Media Scheduling Buffer

Buffer is one of my favorite social media tools and you can find many articles at The Wonder of Tech about ways you can use Buffer to make the most of your social media posts.

• Buffer recently added scheduling to Pinterest so you can make sure your pins are timed to when they can reach the widest audience.

• The times listed in the infographic above may not match exactly with the best times for your Twitter followers. You can also use a combination of Buffer with Followerwonk to see which times work best for your tweets and adjust your scheduled time on Buffer automatically.

Other Social Media Scheduling Tools

You can use other social media tools to schedule your posts. HootSuite lets you schedule your posts on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus and LinkedIn.

RiteTag lets you schedule your posts on Twitter and Facebook and automatically analyzes the strength of your hashtags.

Facebook lets you schedule post for your Pages. When you’re going to post a message on your Facebook page, click the down arrow next to Publish. You’ll see an option to Schedule your post.

Hi Mohit, Yes, often we just share posts on social media when we’re finished reading them or writing them. But by scheduling posts you may be able to get more engagement from the posts.

Try scheduling some posts according to the times suggested in the infographic to see if those times increase traffic to your site. I hope these times work well for you, Mohit!
