    I agree, Carolyn!

We really don’t have to be Irish to celebrate St.Patricks Day coming this weekend. I also was wondering the real purpose of such days and went online to read more about why it’s celebrated and how it all started. I guess it’s always good to know about how such days originated, whether we celebrate it or not. ๐Ÿ™‚

Lovely apps once again, though I just wish I had the kind of gadgets to use them – perhaps by next year my kids might go in for one as I rarely use it.

Thanks for sharing these apps with us. Happy weekend and St. Patricks Day too. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi Harleena, Yes, St. Patrick’s Day is a fun and happy holiday that seems to put almost everyone in a good mood. There aren’t a lot of expectations, other than to have fun!

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts today, Harleena. Have a super weekend!

    Hi Carolyn,
This doesn’t really interest me. I wasn’t even sure when St Partrick’s Day was. I used to grow 4 leafed clovers though. They are said to be lucky and people search the fields for them. They are in fact a different species of clover. There was a guy who had a garden full of them, he dried them and sold them. He made a good living from them! I struggled to keep mine alive! they died in the end, I think because my family wouldn’t leave them alone!

Hi Mike, Yes, St. Patrick’s Day isn’t celebrated in the UK. Here in the US it’s a very big deal. We have a saying here that everyone is Irish on March 17th! I’ve heard the Irish say that we celebrate St. Patrick’s in the US more than they do in Ireland.

My grandfather was born on St. Patricks day, so it’s a day when I always reflect on his life and remember the time that I spent with him. He didn’t care much for St. Patrick’s day, but I like that the day is marked with lots of celebration! These are cool apps Carolyn!

I worked at 48th and Fifth Ave. and could watch many St. Pat parades from my office. So many were on very cold days and I felt sorry for the young girls marching in their short skirts. After work it was sometime difficult to get around the large number of drunks who had been overly celebrating.

    • Carolyn Nicander Mohr says

      March 15, 2013 at 2:21 pm

Hi Jerry, Wow, you didn’t need an app to enjoy the festivities of the St. Patrick’s Day parade! But maybe you would have preferred one? ๐Ÿ˜‰

You always find the funnest things Carolyn and for every occasion.

I’m not a big St. Patrick’s Day person and I certainly don’t care if I wear green or not but I know a lot of people who love to celebrate. It can be fun though, I’ve been to a few bars on that day and there was definitely a good time had by all. Not anymore though, I’m so much more laid back now.

Hi Adrienne, Yes, tech can be so much fun, can’t it? I can’t help wearing green on St. Patrick’s Day, even though I’m not Irish. My husband is part Irish, so I’m the only one in my family who isn’t. Our family definitely gets in the spirit of the day!

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you had a great day even though you didn’t celebrate the holiday, Adrienne!

I have never celebrated St. Patrick’s day before, but the apps you’ve reviewed sure looks interesting. I bet my kids would love them even more than me ๐Ÿ™‚ I have a goal this year and that’s to run a half marathon in Ireland in September. I have always wanted to visit the coast of Ireland and the small villages, and what better way to do it than to run ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Carolyn Nicander Mohr says

      March 17, 2013 at 9:00 pm

Hi Jens, Very cool that you’ll be running in a half marathon in Ireland this fall. I was just in New York City this weekend and there was a half marathon today so my daughter and I got to see a lot of the runners after the race. Very impressive!

Where is your half marathon? There are so many beautiful areas of Ireland, you’re bound to be inspired by the vistas.

Yes, your kids will enjoy these apps even if they don’t celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. The apps are fun and festive any time of year!

      • Jens P. Berget says

        March 18, 2013 at 1:03 am

The half marathon is in Dingle, I believe it’s on the west coast of Ireland, but not really sure ๐Ÿ™‚

        • Carolyn Nicander Mohr says

          March 18, 2013 at 12:27 pm

Dingle is stunning, Jens. Your breath may be taken away more by the scenery than your run! ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Carolyn,

What a great variety of apps and programs to use on St. Patrick’s day.

I downloaded two of the apps. I downloaded the apps to send my kids a picture with the St. Patrick’s day frame. We are Irish and I am excited to hear how they liked their pictures.

I liked your post. It was fun.
