Hi Carolyn,
I want everything, but I’m not greedy. I suppose a camera would be top. I tend to think I’m lucky to have the tech that I have. This afternoon, I’m going to try playing my MP3 player through my car stereo! I’m driving to the hospital, I need relaxing music… I can contract post traumatic stress disorder just parking my car there…
I’ll be doing an interesting blog on editing tomorrow. I’ve been using different software. It’s still free though!
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Mike, Very cool. I could see you wanting a new camera somehow. Perhaps you will get a new smartphone with a camera attached?
I look forward to your article tomorrow. I have an article planned for photo editing as well, though perhaps quite different from yours!

Do you know if someone can “gift” an app? Would they have to purchase an iTunes gift card?
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi cho cho, How lovely to see you back here at The Wonder of Tech! You have just provided me with a great “Coming Attractions” comment! If you can stay tuned until Friday, I will explain how you can send an app as a gift.
If you can’t wait until Friday, let me know and I will email you instructions. (Hint: You don’t have to purchase an iTunes gift card.)
Thanks for your awesome comment, cho cho!
cho cho says
That’s grrreat!! Thank you, Carolyn.
Not to push it, but … if you could tell us on Friday if we could time the app gift, (so it arrives on a certain date), that would be most helpful!
Thanks again!
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Absolutely, cho cho. I will definitely include that information as well. Thanks for your patience! π
Harleena Singh says
I’ve started loving polls Carolyn!
More so ever since I started them on my blog, it gets interesting to poll and view the results and make out what people are generally voting for. π
I chose a tablet, though there is so much one really wishes for, but then one’s got to be realistic and see to the funds too. I guess thinking of going in for a tablet has been a wish that all of us a family have been thinking of for long, though never really got down to buying one. Perhaps the coming year might make it happen. π
Thanks for sharing. π
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Harleena, Yes, I love polls too. I love creating them, voting in them and, most of all, seeing the results. Very few polls here at The Wonder of Tech haven’t surprised me with their results. I enjoyed your poll about water intake, Harleena.
Tablets fascinate me. They have been around since long before the iPad, but they never took off until Steve Jobs somehow convinced us that we had to have them. Who knew they would become a tech staple in just a few years?
I hope you get a tablet that’s the perfect fit for you, Harleena!
Mayura says
Hi Carolyn,
Well, my TECH wish list has a computer as my current one is 11 years old and can’t play latest games π I’m happy with what I’ve got and satisfies until next one. Was loved to have a smartphone and got a Galaxy Nexus this year. Now hunting down apps mostly π
Hope you will be able to achieve yours π
Cheers…
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Mayura, that’s very impressive that your computer has lasted eleven years! Most people are happy getting three years out of their computers. Often people upgrade to get more memory or storage, even though there is nothing wrong with their computers.
I imagine you’ll be able to play all kinds of new games with you new computer, Mayura!
I hope you get your heart’s desire, Mayura!
Tim Bonner says
Hi Carolyn
I’m definitely going to be looking out for a new computer in 2013. I’m not sure whether that will be a laptop or a desktop but it will definitely be a PC!
And of course, the flying car would always come in handy.
Have a great week.
Tim
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Tim, Wow, A new computer is a big purchase. Yes, choosing between a desktop and a laptop is a big decision. There are certainly advantages to each.
I hope you get that flying car, Tim! π
Praveen Rajarao says
Hi Carolyn – I love your polls, especially because I always relate to it by looking at my current buying needs π
I am still looking out for a fair deal on a good laptop, so i voted for the “Computers” and i see that there are quite a few of them (36%) who are shopping for one right now.
I am looking out for a i7 processor and a 64GB SSD and 7200 rpm for a minimum, i wouldnt want to settle for a lesser one and later repent not being able to support Windows 8 or 9 π
Thanks for a wonderful read.
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Praveen, I’m so glad you like these polls. I enjoy them too and I’m almost always surprised by the responses. With these results, I can see you’re not alone in wanting a computer. That seems to be the most popular tech item in this poll.
To your requirements, I suggest that you add touch screen if you’re going to get a Windows 8 computer. That operating system works best with a touch screen computer. Even if you don’t think you’ll want to be touching your screen, you may change your mind after you use Windows 8 for a while.
I hope you get the perfect computer for you, Praveen!
Steve says
Hey Carolyn,
Good tech list man! If I had heap of cash then definitely I would get flying car for myself. π As I am truly into Soccer, I am planning to get good Gaming console and X-Box this holiday. I have almost everything which you have listed in wish list apart from flying car and excellent gaming console. I really hope to get one as soon as I get my salary.
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Steve, Welcome to The Wonder of Tech! It sounds as if you are almost all set with your tech, except for the Xbox and the flying car. I hope you get all of the items on your wish list Steve, even the non-tech gifts! π
Sapna says
Hi Carolyn
I really like your the idea of poll. Next year I want to buy one android based mobile for testing some of the applications I am developing for mobile.
Tablet is a great idea but budgetary constraints won’t allow for that. Iphone and ipad are very expensive in India.
Thanks
Sapna
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Sapna, I’m glad you like the poll. I enjoy them because readers always surprise me with their responses. If you check back about a week after the poll is published, you can see the results.
I had heard that the iPad and iPhone are very expensive in India plus the iTunes App Store for India doesn’t have many apps.
Best of luck with your Android app development, Sapna!
Manickam Vijayabanu says
Hi Carolyn,
Nice tech Poll. Indeed, I am looking LED TV – 55′ since pending quite long. My current LCD is 2009 version and looking Samsung LED 7 or 8 series. Hope would get before Dec end π
Per my current analysis, Samsung still leads on LED segment, Sony and LG follows next. Color, Contrast, Look, features, and depth…I believe still looks great. Sony XBR 850 comparatively comes with nice features as well.
Need to wait and decide :). Thanks for sharing the poll.
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Manickam, Wow, that would be great! I hope you get that amazing TV. Perhaps a big sale would be a great excuse to get the TV of your dreams?
Thanks for participating in the poll, Manickam and for sharing your wish list with us!
Santosh says
Tablets are perfect for playing games and watching movies, but avid readers might prefer a mono-tasking device that’s easy on the eyes.”
In the “Olden Days”, we used to call that a “book”.
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Santosh, Welcome to The Wonder of Tech! Lol, you’re right. A book is a mono-tasking device that’s easy on the eyes! :-bd
Ashvini says
Hi Carolyn ,
I think I am full of tech stuff for now . I am interested probably in a tablet + pc mix ( intel) but I would wait till there are more options are available .
Also something interesting is coming up . Bendable mobile phones. Maybe I will wait a little more :D.
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Ashvini, Yes, I would say that Windows tablets are probably the best mix of tablet/PC, but the Surface Pro which comes out next year, may be the closest tablet/laptop combination we have seen yet.
I wonder if bendable phones would break if you bent them too far? I would be very afraid of breaking my phone. Plus, I wonder how you could get a case for a bendable phone. The future is so exciting! π
Adeline says
That’s a cool poll Caroyln! Now only if Santa could see our votes! LOL!
I’m actually quite surprised that a lot of respondents have all the tech they need!
I’m still hoping for an iPad, but have no plans to get one this year…yet!
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Adeline, Yes, I have been surprised at the results as well. Who knew computers would be such a popular choice?
People who are looking to get an iPad can now get one for less money than last year. The iPad 3, which isn’t even a year old, is less expensive, if you can find one. Plus people can save money by getting the iPad Mini. In previous years, people had to pay full price for iPads models which were nine months old. Even if you pay full price for an iPad 4, you’re getting a model that’s just weeks old.
Thanks for stopping by and voting, Adeline! π
Anchit Shethia says
I just bought an iPhone 5 and a Kindle tablet! Its gonna make my Christmas awesomee!!
Carolyn Nicander Mohr says
Hi Anchit, Wow, you certainly will have a great Christmas. Congratulations on your new tech! π
