How to Save Your Wordle Streak and Preserve Your Stats

Beginning on Friday, you can now save your Wordle streak to an account so you can play across devices without worry. The New York Times, which bought Wordle from the original developer earlier this year, now offers the option of saving your progress to an account.

You can save your Wordle stats and streak to your New York Times account or save them to a free account if you don’t have a New York Times account. If you save your Wordle progress to an account, you can play on different devices without breaking your streak.

Before Friday, you had no option to keep your Wordle streak going if you played on a different device. Wordle didn’t track your stats across devices that could break your streak if you weren’t careful.

Now, you have the option of using an account so you can play Wordle on any device and keep your streak and stats going.

To create a free Wordle account or log in to your New York Times account, solve the Wordle puzzle for the day.

Note that if you share a New York Times account with someone else, you should decide who is going to have their Wordle account linked to your New York Times account. Also note that if you don’t use an account with Wordle, your streak and stats won’t follow you across devices.

Now you can get that new phone, computer, or tablet without worrying about breaking your Wordle streak!

Wordle Board Game

The New York Times also announced last week that it will be partnering with the toy company Hasbro to make a Wordle board game. The game is available beginning October 1, 2022, and you can pre-order now.

Hasbro NYT Wordle Game

In a press release, The New York Times announced its partnership with Hasbro to develop the Wordle board game. “Since Wordle burst onto the scene, it’s undoubtedly been a staple in social and pop culture vocabulary,” said Adam Biehl, SVP & General Manager, Hasbro Gaming. “We’re beyond thrilled to work with New York Times Games to bring our gaming worlds together and extend Wordle in new ways.”

The Wordle board game is designed for multiple players with one person acting as the host of each round. Players try to guess the five-letter word chosen by the host from The New York Times list of Wordle words (included with the game). Players write their guesses on reusable dry-erase boards. As with Wordle on the web, players get six rounds to guess the correct word.

The host will check each guess and mark the correct letters with a green tile (if it’s in the proper place) or a yellow tile (if it’s in the wrong place).

Scores are based on the number of guesses needed to solve the Wordle puzzle. The player with the lowest score at the end wins.

The Wordle board game also has timed and team options. With the timed option, the player who solves the puzzle fastest wins. With the team option, players can form teams to collaborate on their Wordle guesses.

The Wordle Board Game is available from Amazon, Target, and Hasbro for $19.99 and can be pre-ordered now at wordlethepartygame.com. The game starts shipping on October 1.
