Your Facebook Year in Review 2013

The estimated reading time for this post is 2 minutes

Facebook has a cool feature to help you see major life events you posted in 2013 and to help you figure out who your very best friends were in 2013. Well, maybe not your actual “besties” but the people you engaged with most on Facebook. Take a trip down Memory Lane to remember what happened in your life and see which people made your “Best of” list on Facebook this year.

Facebook Review 2013

This Is Your Life! ย (Facebook edition, 2013)

To see a summary of your year on Facebook, head to https://www.facebook.com/yearinreview/. You’ll see a list of your 20 most popular posts, photos you shared and posts in which you were tagged. You can see which posts were your most popular and see if you missed any posts from others in which you were tagged. Facebook will also show you a slide show of your popular photos and profile pics you used in 2013.

Seeing Who Your Best Facebook Friends Are

You also get to see the most popular posts your friends shared each year, the ones where people interacted the most. You can Like and comment on the posts you might have missed and read others’ comments as well.

You can find out more about Facebook’s Year in Review from the Facebook Year in Review Help page.

    Hi Carolyn,

Ah…I see myself there and am elated ๐Ÿ™‚

Never heard about Year in Review, or perhaps it’s something new? Or just come up recently perhaps. But even if we haven’t heard of it, trust you to come up with and we know we’d hear about all the latest things right here on your blog ๐Ÿ™‚

I think this is a very cool feature just to see who all have been your friends, or good friends with whom you have interacted the most, and what posts were the ones that brought up the maximum conversation – awesome indeed.

Heading right over to give it a real good look now. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for sharing, and I’d surely be sharing this one with everyone, just as always – so that they too can check it out. Have a nice week ahead ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi Harleena, Yes, this feature is very new and only available for a limited time so I wanted to share it with Wonder of Tech readers right away. So much fun! I really enjoyed seeing my friends, the important posts, their profile pictures and other photos that my friends and I uploaded to Facebook. I even found some important posts I had missed throughout the year.

I hope you enjoy your trip down Memory Lane courtesy of Facebook, Harleena!

With a little bit of trepidation, I decided to take a peek. So my top FB post was back in January – it was really the one and only time I wrote a little story about my father, who died in October 2012.

Then my friends … yes, those are my friends. At least the ones that use FB.

Thanks for letting us know, Carolyn.

Hi Leora, Wow, good point that not all of the posts are happy ones. But perhaps seeing the posts of support from your friends again was uplifting.

That’s great that your Facebook world and your real world are parallel. It will be interesting to see what others discover from their Facebook reviews.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us, Leora.

    Hi Carolyn,

I checked out my year on Facebook. It wasn’t that great, but the profile pics of my friends was interesting. I just saw my sister is doing Christmas wishes on Facebook instead of buying stamps for cards she donated the money to charity. I tell everyone to buy stamps. I own shares in Royal Mail now! They should have me designing the stamps now I’m a shareholder. Those shares didn’t do well today or the banks. It’s OK. I invested in a mince pie company!

My photos this week include an old railway track… It provided some interesting pictures. The local art gallery tweeted me to enter a calendar competition, but I need beter pictures for that. I still have 6 weeks. A frozen canal might be nice, but I am thinking about the river too. It’s a waterways calendar…

Hi Mike, That’s so cool you’re going to enter a calendar competition! I hope you win. You have plenty of amazing photos to enter, it will be hard for you to choose which ones to use.

Yes, Royal Mail should use your images. Is there any way to submit them to Royal Mail?

When I saw my Year in Review, I discovered an image you created for The Wonder of Tech. Thanks so much!

Thanks for sharing this, Carolyn – I’ve just had a quick look and it’s nice to see the faces of my main FB friends, and some old posts I’d forgotten about. I have to say, though, there were a few posts that I’d no recollection of ever seeing at all, so I’m not sure how accurate it is ๐Ÿ™‚

Many thanks for letting us know about the Itunes give-away – that’s lovely ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi Sue, I’m glad you enjoyed seeing your Year in Review. Yes, I missed some important posts on Facebook during the year so this review was helpful to show me what I missed.

I don’t know what gifts iTunes has in store for us, but free is good, right?

I really haven’t done anything this year (on Facebook). Probably less than 10 posts. I haven’t spend much time with blogging either (I mean, blogging with FB). Facebook isn’t particularly encouraging small businesses (so, why invest too much time/effort into the social network? Best to spent it somewhere else).

Anyways, I will give feature a try, see how it is ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for sharing, Caroyn ๐Ÿ™‚ Hope you had a good year ๐Ÿ˜€

      December 13, 2013 at 10:14 am

Hi Jeevan, Good point. If you’re not active on Facebook then your Year in Review may not hold much interest for you. You’re right, the traffic that Facebook is sending to business pages has dropped off significantly. If you use Facebook primarily for business, then its appeal has probably diminished for you.

Carolyn, I don’t think I’ve heard of this Facebook review, I like that it will show us the most popular posts so it can help us know what our friends really like there ๐Ÿ™‚
I will pass on the iTunes content to a dear friend who has an autistic daughter that uses an iPad to communicate, thanks for sharing these with us. Have a great Friday the 13th today!

Hi Lisa, I think you’ll enjoy seeing your Facebook Year in Review. You’re right, it’s interesting to see which post proved popular on Facebook.

iPads can be extremely helpful to those with autism. Thanks for passing along this information to your friend. I hope she and her daughter enjoy their free gifts from iTunes.

That’s actually kind of fun Carolyn and you’re on my list too. I’m not surprised at all.

Kind of neat to see a review although I post every week day on Facebook so I have a lot of stuff I’ve shared. Still kind of neat to see what they gathered for me including my friends. I’ll have to share with next week when everyone is back and active. I don’t get a lot of traction on Fridays!

Thanks for the info about iTunes too. Glad to know we can get something for free from them coming up. Yay!!!

Have a wonderful weekend and thanks again.

Hi Adrienne, Yes, you are very active on Facebook so I bet your review is a lot of fun for you to see. You can see which posts had the biggest responses for you to guide you in 2014.

I hope you find some amazing gifts from iTunes, Adrienne!
